Oceans'25: Festival of Junior Surf Lifesaving, is the biggest junior carnival of the season and aims to provide an opportunity for junior surf life saving members from across New Zealand to compete, challenge themselves and celebrate the camaraderie of surf lifesaving in a fun, exciting and safe beach and surf environment. Head down to Mount Maunganui main beach to watch and support the teams from 8am - 4pm today and tomorrow, Sunday February 23.

The Mount Maunganui RSA Chess club are holding the annual one-day Bay of Plenty Rapid Chess Tournament, a national level event, today from 9am - 5pm at the Mount Bible Chapel, 2 Bedford Place, Arataki. This event, which has over $1300 up for grabs attracts players from around the country from young to old.Anyone who can play chess can participate.
