An aggressive man went on a rampage at the Cherrywood Shopping Centre at the weekend punching an 17-year-old female store attendant and smashing shopfront windows.
About 8am on Sunday a man is believed to have entered the Cherrywood Four Square on Cherrywood Drive where police say he punched a 17-year-old worker before smashing the front window of the store.
A man is in hospital after punching a window at the Cherrywood Four Square.
Police were called to the shopping centre and found a man bleeding heavily from cuts sustained when he broke the window a short distance away from the store.
'It was a dispute, more of a disorder wilful damage type thing,” says acting senior sergeant Mark Holmes.
'He punched one of the staff members.”
The man was taken to Tauranga Hospital by St John Ambulance paramedics.
Police say the man will be summonsed to appear in court when he is released from hospital.
'He's going to be summonsed to appear in court,” says Mark.

I feel sorry for the poor 17 year old worker who was apparently punched. This sort of violence is serious (like any violence) and in my opinion deserves jail time, plus payment to the victim and payment for any damage. I guess the offender was taken to A&E at the local hospital. I hope he was made to wait for hours but I'm guessing he was treated promptly, such is the ass about face system we have in our society.
