At Tauranga Hospital aged 72, on 4 March 2025 following a long and tenacious battle, faced with courage and absolute determination to live.

Dearly loved husband of Jane, and proud father and father-in- law of Adam and Lana, David and Steph.

Adored Popz of Madeline, Stella and Millie, and ‘special Alan’ of Cooper and Eleanor. Loved brother and brother-in- law of Barrie, Steph (deceased) and Kathryn.

Uncle Al was an adored brother-in-law, uncle and great uncle full of mischief and fun.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Dialysis Unit at Tauranga Hospital would be most appreciated and may be left at the service.

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr Richard Germann, Mr Thwaite, Dr Scotty Crawford and hospital medical teams; the compassionate and caring staff at the Dialysis Unit, District Nurses and Vision Health.

You all did everything you possibly could do to prolong Alan’s life. Our grateful thanks also to Dr Maria Reyneke who looked after Alan for many years.

Alan will be deeply missed by us all. A kind and generous man now free and at peace.

A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at Pyes Pa Memorial Park Chapel, 403 Pyes Pa Rd Tauranga, on Monday 10 March at 2pm, followed by private cremation.
