Emergency services are responding to the scene of two vehicle crashes, in Hairini and Welcome Bay.
Police received a report of a vehicle crash around 9.22am in Hairini.
“A person crashed into the traffic lights. They were uninjured but one light pole had apparently fallen down,” Police said.
“Traffic management was arranged and the Council notified to fix the traffic lights.”
Fire brigades from Greerton and Tauranga also attended the scene.
PowerCo is reporting a power outage at Ōhauiti due to damaged equipment. Restoration of power is in progress, but the estimated restoration time is unknown at this stage.
Crash in Welcome Bay
Emergency services are also responding to a vehicle crash in Welcome Bay.
Police received a report of a single vehicle crash on Waitaha Rd, Welcome Bay, around 10.35am.
“Just one lane blocked, and no injuries,” Police said.
Power outage at Mount Maunganui
An unplanned power outage near Puriri St has affected 63 properties at Mount Maunganui. The power cut occurred at 8.02am. A site investigation is underway with power restoration time estimated to be at 12.15pm.
Another 43 Mount Maunganui properties near Miro St had an unplanned power cut at 8.53am. A site investigation is underway with power estimated to be restored by 2.30pm.
