Waitakere CIB has launched a homicide enquiry after the suspicious death of a 29-year-old man in the West Auckland suburb of Ranui last night.

Police went to an address late in the evening on Tuesday after reports a man had been taken to Waitakere Hospital with unexplained injuries.

He later died as a result of his injuries.

The address has been cordoned off while a scene examination is being carried out.

An area canvas is now in progress.

A post mortem is planned later today.

Police are speaking with witnesses.
