Police confirm TEL crash fatality

A Te Puke woman has died following a crash on the Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) on Thursday, June 26.

Police confirmed the death in a statement today.

Two vehicles crashed on the TEL, between Papamoa and Paengaroa, at about 9.50am.

One person was taken to hospital in critical condition.

“She died in hospital as a result of her injuries later that day,” said a police spokesperson.

“The deceased is 34-year-old Lily Arabin, from Te Puke.

“Our thoughts are with those close to her at this difficult time.”

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
