Slips, flooding and routine maintenance will now be the focus of NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi roading contractors.

In a statement, NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) said it was shifting its focus now as winter temperatures settle in.

NZTA Bay of Plenty system manager Sandra King said asphalt resurfacing will be a key focus over the coming month on SH2 north of Tauranga, with crews working at multiple locations between Te Puna and Athenree.

“Work is scheduled to begin on Sunday, July 6, and will continue Sunday to Thursday for two weeks. To minimise disruption to motorists, all resurfacing will take place at night between 7pm and 5am.
