Police have located a body in Arkles Bay in Whangaparoa.

At about 6:45am on January 7, 2013, local Police attended a scene where a deceased body was found.

The identity of the body is yet to be confirmed. Police are treating the death as unexplained.

No further details will be released at this stage.
