The next crop of rising stars of Bay of Plenty Cricket is on show at Blake Park in Mount Maunganui today as the Bay of Plenty Under 18 team plays the ND Under 16 representatives.

Bay of Plenty Coach Peter Swan, who mentored the BOP Coastland team to win the ND Senior Secondary tournament in late December 2012, selected a good mixture of proven age group representative experience and emerging talent.
Bay of Plenty skipper Ben Musgrave has plenty of experience of top-level cricket being an integral member of the Tauranga Boys College first eleven.
Otumoetai College bowler Tim Klyen has risen through the ranks in the last twelve months and played a big part in the BOP Coastland success at the ND tournament.
Taupo's Shannon McSkimming was a key member of the BOP Lakeland team that finished fifth in the ND tournament, while Trident High School bowler Tom Casey topped the wicket count in the Bay First Eleven competition played during term four.
There is a strong Bay of Plenty connection to the Northern Districts Under 16 team, with current Bay of Plenty senior men's coach Ben Williams in charge of the ND youngsters.
Last season, Ben took the ND age group representatives to success in the North Island Under 16 tournament.
To add icing to the cake the ND side won the North Island tournament with an unbeaten record.
