Once again driver visbility at this renowned intersection. Countdown supermarket were turned away because of traffic increases here. A roundabout would resolve issues?

Just curious.....

Recognition???

I love how every single time us first responders are NEVER mentioned! As you will see in the picture there is others on the ground. Others being myself who was holding the guys head and my partner. We ( and some others) were the ones who treated him at he scene...NOT St John. Once they came we helped get him on the stretcher and they put him in ambulance. I think its about time the people that help out before St john come along, get recognised too!!

Looking

Well carpedeum the vehicle on it's side in the picture appears to be a motor scooter. Ironic really that you didn't look properly as I bet this is the same reason for the accident.

Take a GOOD look at the top photo. It show quite clearly a red motor scooter lying what looks like in the middle of the road opposite an intersection. Does that answer all your questions? It's a matter of observing what is in front of you.

Well done Becky and partner and those others helping while waiting for help. I passed there and saw what a brilliant job you were doing holding him stable and keeping him warm til other help came. As for carpendeum, have you not read the article,it clearly states the car pulled out in front of the gentleman on the scooter. Hope he gets better quickly.

i agree with becky1980 if it wasn't for the "first responders" at any crash site the road toll would be higher we first aiders need more recognition and to clear things up its a cross between a motor bike and a motor scooter

good on you both for helping, and its what most would do, if it is so important for you to be noticed, send in a picture, or better still put something on u tube.

Well done Becky. But did you call sunlive and tell them your story? a reporter arriving wasnt to know that and have to take the word of St John and police and other emergency services as to what has happened. So did you call SunLive to fill them on on the details, or just poke criticism? I'm sure your story and many others like it would make great reading for us, if you just called the news hotline and filled them in. you can hardly complain about lack of information being put out there, when no-one's passed it on.

Really???

In response to "becky1980" recognition???? Seriously??? Don't you just feel happy that you've been able to help? What recognition is required?

Parenting?

becky1980 I think it's really sad that you feel you need recognition. Your parents must have praised you a lot as a child. Stopping and helping our fellow man is part of being human. Anyway, well done, what a good girl you are, extra dessert for you tonight.

Clarify

Posted on 06-03-2013 22:34 | By becky1980

JUst to clarify i was not looking for recognition for myself!! I am talking about other first responders out there that have saved many a life before St John came along who don't get praised but St John do for a job they didn't do. And yes i did tell Sun Live. If it was about me getting recognition i would be telling you all who i was wouldn't I?? St John are good yes, but its not fair that they get praised for stuff others have done for them. Oh and @ Kimberley just to clarify not every one stops to help people. The amount of people i have seen driving past other incidents without helping is shocking. And @ Sambo...again its not about me personally! I have seen so many people saving lives that St John take recognition for and thats not right!

If you read the article it purely states the fact that St John was called and Paramedics transported the patient, it also says the man was helped at the scene before the Paramedics arrived. I guess that is recognition St John was present.Furthermore this article doesn't state anywhere that St John saved lives or otherwise at this particular incident (I'm sure they do however) at many others. Due to no praise to them in this article I'd like to provide some now. Great job St John well done for doing your job. While I'm at it thanks to the Police that were obviously doing there job too.
