It has been a while since Greerton man Jim Wright has been out for a fish – so when he reeled in an 18 pound snapper this morning he was pretty pleased with himself.
Greerton man Jim Wright caught an 18 pound snapper this morning. Photos: supplied.
This morning marked Jim's first fishing trip in a long time. His daughter says he was pretty pleased to bring home a fish nearly the size of her three-year-old son.
'At first he thought it was a Kingfish but it was actually this giant snapper. He hasn't actually been out for a while.”
She says after today's catch her father will be going out fishing more regularly.
This isn't the only big fish Jim has caught. About 10 years ago he caught a fish weighing in at 13 pounds.

Congratulations Jim but I think real fishos would have applauded you more if you had weighed it photographed it and released it to carry on its life and make many more snapper.
