The Easter display tells the story of the resurrection of Jesus and offers a real look into the history of Easter weekend.
From Friday to Sunday from 9am – 6pm, and Monday from 8.30am to 12pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Bethlehem Rd, Tauranga. Entry by donation.
Jazz Festival
The 51st National Jazz Festival hits town for Easter with lots happening around the city.
Sons of Sinatara started the festival with a performance at Baycourt overnight to be followed by Big Band Night tonight.
The Strand in the city is set to be a buzz as people come out to get a taste of some of the best jazz musicians in the world.
Easter Road Closures: Tauranga City Centre
- The Strand will be closed from midnight on Friday 29th March until midnight on Sunday 31st March.
- Willow Street from Spring Street to Wharf Street will be closed from 6am until 6pm on Saturday 30th March
- Wharf Street from Durham Street to Willow Street and Willow Street from Wharf Street to Hamilton Street will be closed to all traffic except buses and taxis from midnight on Friday 29th March until midnight on Sunday 31st March.
Easter Road Closures: 17th Avenue
- 17th Avenue from Clark Street to the cul-de-sac at the end of the road will be closed from 7am until 7pm on Sunday 31st March and Monday 1st April. 17th Avenue from the intersection with Cameron Road to Clark Street, and Clark Street to 20th Avenue will be open to traffic heading towards Greerton only.
- Parking will be limited on 17th Avenue.
Easter Road Closures: Mount Maunganui
- Maunganui Road will be closed from Banks Avenue/Salisbury Avenue to Pacific Avenue on Saturday 30th March between 6am and 5pm for the Easter Family Festival
