UPDATED 1.40PM: Maunganui Rd is now clear following a three car nose-to-tail crash earlier today.
Emergency servies attended the crash shortly before midday near the intersection with Tay St.
A paramedic treats passengers for minor injuries.
The cars were blocking one lane on Maunganui Rd but traffic could move around them.
Police and St John attended, where some passengers were treated for minor injuries on the side of the road.

mmm, Only happens when following TOO close...1st car up the back of front car, 2nd into the back of 2nd car.Feel sorry for the front car...NOT his fault!

Obviously two drivers who were either following too close or not paying attention to driving. Hopefully they'll get fined.
