UPDATE 8:36pm A 71-year-old woman who became disorientated during a bush walk today has been found safe and well by Search and Rescue teams.
A helicopter was called to help search for a 71-year-old woman.
Tauranga acting senior sergeant Phil Gillbanks says the woman left for a day walk alone from Aongatete Lodge around 2pm today.
Phil says during her walk the woman became disorientated and left the track.
He says the woman used her cellphone to call for help and has kept in contact with police since.
A helicopter was also dispatched to help search for the woman.
The woman was found about 1.5kms from the lodge by police Search and Rescue teams who head to her position on foot.
