What's on Today? Performing arts

Performers from across the North Island will take to the stage today for the Tauranga Festival of Performing Arts.

Piano is one of the categories young performers will compete in at the Tauranga Festival of Performing Arts.

The Performing Arts Competition Society's 56th annual event sees dancers, musicians and actors from across the city showcasing their talent.

Since July 13, judges have been searching for the city's top performers and today's concert features the very best from 10 days of dance, music and drama.

Performers are competing for special awards including the National Young Performers Nomination, scholarships, challenge cups and trophies.

The 2013 concert is at Baycourt Theatre starting at 3pm. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for children under 13, or $35 for a family of four and are available at the Baycourt Box Office.
