On Wednesday afternoon this week in parliament Tauranga MP Simon Bridges congratulated Pat Lam and Gold Star Patrick's Pies Bakery from Tauranga for winning New Zealand's Supreme Pie – for their creamy bacon, mushroom, and cheese pie.

'Can I mention a very positive thing from the electorate of Tauranga that I am privileged to represent. Yesterday Pat Lam of Gold Star Patrick's Pies Bakery in Tauranga beat 388 other bakeries nationwide to win Supreme Award for the best pie in New Zealand with a creamy bacon, mushroom and cheese pie,” Simon says.
'This is the third time he has won. In Tauranga we are truly proud to say we ate all the pies.”
