Frolicking in the summer mist

Ah, the lazy hazy days of summer.
I thought I would share with you a little bit of what I have been up to over the last week.
I had a holiday at Grandma's, as the bosses went sailing and would not take me. The ignominy of it, had something to do with my bathroom skills, which they think are magnified in small areas. Be damned if my number twos were magnified, the boat would sink. Never mind, I got to hang around with a few wild canines, and terrorised the beaches.
Mad cousin Oscar paid a visit from the hills (he of the duelling banjos and squeaky bark).
I keep my back to the wall, as he keeps talking about making me squeal like a pig and wanting me to watch 'Broke Back Mountain” with him, anyway we teamed up with 'Supercharged Sam”, a Retriever from Newnham Rd. We absolutely left no picnic hamper un-molested or beach umbrella, un-sniffed, there was not a grain of sand left undisturbed, and there bare a few seagulls in dire need of counselling.
Intellectual
After a while my superior intellect kicked in and I went to do my David Attenborough thing: Collecting large rocks, and digging large holes. Those other two loose cannons can chase as many seagulls as they like, but what is the point when they will never catch one? Actually the only canine I have even seen get close to one is the crazy German chick Ady, who lucky for us all, was not visiting.
It was later in the day when a couple of the neighbour's twolegger grandchildren Piper and Caleb kept me amused by tossing rocks and other debris in the water for me to dive for, and finally led Oscar and I back home.
The holidays have had romantic moments, as the next day I met Rachael and a friend of hers from Lindoch Avenue, who proceeded to introduce me to, Lucy a leggy (four of them) retriever. She is a little older than me, which makes her a cougar. Woof. Anyway these ladies were more into genteel pursuits, like resting in the shade and sampling a few cocktails – far better for my constitution than chasing seagulls with Mad Oscar and Super-active Sam.
Now on to the Aussie boy, who has been ensconced in his shop in Gate Pa, serving up the best meaty delicacies going, (I should know) for everyone's barbecues and parties make sure you do get in and see him as he loves a chat and would love to see you.
Barbecue with Germans
Ingredients
500g Bratwurst sausages
700ml of beer (Becks is ideal)
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Method
Place all ingredients in a heavy based saucepan or flameproof casserole.
Bring to simmering point and simmer gently for approximately 5 minutes, drain.
Barbecue sausages, turning frequently, for approximately 10 minutes or until evenly brown.
If you want to go really traditional, serve with lots of Bavarian beer, sauerkraut and steaming mashed potato or a potato rosti.

Alrighty my good people, I must be off as I have to spruce up my paw nails and read a few pages of the 'Jungle Book” as I have a hot date with a Cougar tonight.
See ya all next week!
