Police are investigating a two car crash at George bolt Drive intersecting with Montgomerie Roads.

Shortly after 2am police were told of the incident and responded with other emergency services.

Three persons have been transported to hospital with one having very serious injuries.

Serious crash investigators are at the scene and have closed the road.

Diversions are in place and it is hoped that the road may reopen at approximately 6am this morning.

Those persons travelling to Auckland Airport should allow more time to get to the airport.
