Suspicious death in Merivale

UPDATE 1:35PM: A man, believed to be a 52-year-old Merivale local, has died under suspicious circumstances.

Police have cordoned off an address beside Merivale School.

Police cordoned off an address in Kesteven Avenue, directly beside the primary school, around 11am today following what police have confirmed as a suspicious death.

At this point SunLive understands a 52-year-old Merivale man, believed to have three children, has died.

A dairy owner at the Peter Pan Supperette says he was a "very nice man".

About five police cars and St John Ambulance attended the scene.

The cause of death is not yet known. Police are expected to release more information later this afternoon.
