Spending late Friday afternoons browsing the Katikati Market stalls, set among the trees in the historic Uretara Domain, has become something of a tradition in the town – and one which will continue throughout the summer.
'It's not just a market it's a social outing, with many locals purchasing their week's meat, veges and produce from here,” says Jean Walsh, a member of the organising committee.
Food to flowers and more is on sale at the weekly Katikati Market.
The market features a wide range of stalls from fresh foods to baked goods, to freshly made pizza, eggs, honey, flowers, meats, chocolates, Indian delicacies, fruit, seedlings, plants, and even fresh pet food and worm tea for the garden.
'The market will be open every Friday afternoon throughout the summer and it's become a popular meeting place for locals who often catch up with each other while they do their shopping,” says Jean.
This is a 'must see” every Friday afternoon from 4pm-6pm, located at the A&P Showgrounds on SH2 (Waterford Rd), going north from the Katikati Township.
