Activities and fun events for all ages were on at The Lakes Giant Picnic and Family Fun Day on Saturday.
Bouncy Castles, a water slide, the fly on the wall event, live music and face painting were among the more active entertainments.

On the water the first racing in the radio controlled yachting regatta began about 10.30am and there were free orienteering courses for walking or biking.
Visitors can also view progress at The Lake House - the section and home that has been gifted to Waipuna Hospice by The Lakes and supporting builders and tradesmen.
The show home trail is also open with added entertainments.
Gate prizes include a Koops Cycles bike, and three grocery draws.
