Why do the Black Cap bowlers bowl the ball so that it bounces about five metres from the crease, which makes it a good height to attempt to hit with the bat.
Now, if they bowled a ball to land at or near the batsman's feet – not a Yorker, but about half a metre from the crease, that is the hardest ball to hit, so that would cut the run-rate considerably.
I don't understand why they don't do this, as they are experienced players and should think how to cut the run-rate.
And those two-pitch lengths run-up to bowl a ball – absolutely unnecessary. E
