Traffic cameras were used to track down the painter's vehicle that left a trail of white paint spilled along the brand new seal on Cameron Road.

With the new lane markings barely dry, the additional ‘free flow' paint job appeared in the left hand lane near the Elizabeth Street lights on Tuesday morning and can easily be seen as far as 8th and 9th Avenues.

A council spokesperson says drips of the paint can be followed as far as Gate Pa.

Council contractors will remove the water-based paint, and bill the company responsible for the spill.
