Blob catapult unleashed + VID

The launch of Waimarino Adventure Park's newest attraction has been used to highlight the diversity of the Bay of Plenty tourism industry.
About 100 people from various Western Bay of Plenty organisations turned out at Waimarino Adventure Park for the official launch of the Blob and to explore opportunities for the Bay of Plenty tourism industry.

Bracing for take-off.

The Blob is a sausage-shaped rubber pontoon. People jump off a nearby tower onto it, catapulting the person sitting at the other end into the air.
Waimarino Adventure Park director Blair Anderson says the Blob is a small example of the diversity within the Bay of Plenty tourism industry.
'There are many people in Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty who deal with tourism but don't even know it,” says Blair.
At the launch Blair spoke about growth within the Bay of Plenty tourism industry, the history of Waimarino Adventure Park and why sales are important to the industry.
