Police are looking for a man caught on CCTV footage allegedly taking a beer keg from a Mount Maunganui bar.

Mount Maunganui Police Senior Sergeant Deidre Lack says the man appears to have climbed the fence into the enclosed yard at the rear of the premises on Marine Parade about 12.45am on Thursday.

CCTV footage then shows the man taking the keg, climbing onto a table and back over the fence.

Deirdre is unable to name the establishment for privacy reasons.

The man is described as having short brown hair, wearing shorts and a distinctive t-shirt. The front of the t-shirt is black, and the back has a grey and white camouflage style pattern.
