UPDATE 5.45PM:A 78-year-old man has been flown to Tauranga Hospital in a serious condition after his tractor rolled in Welcome Bay this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the rural property on Waitao Road where the man had been mowing a paddock when the accident occurred.
A rescue helicopter paramedic and police attend to a man injured when a tractor rolled on a rural Welcome Bay property.
The Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was called to transport the man from the scene to Tauranga Hospital.
Pilot Liam Brettkelly says the man, a Welcome Bay local, sustained hip and shoulder injuries.

A Tauranga St John spokesperson confirmed to SunLive paramedics from Te Puke are at the scene on Waitao Road where a man has sustained injuries.
A rescue helicopter was also dispatched to the site following the accident just before 4pm.
A reporter at the scene says a tractor has rolled down a section of steep terrain on a private farm about 7km from Welcome Bay Road.
A rescue helicopter paramedic is attending to the man and police are also at the scene.
