Big Red Bus tours the city

The wheels on Labour's Big Red Bus went round and round the city today in an effort to raise the party's profile and promote its ‘vote positive' campaign.

The bus stopped at Bethlehem Town Centre at midday today to pick up Bay of Plenty and Tauranga candidates and party supporters in a changeover from yesterday's tour around the Coromandel electorate.

Labour Party candidate for Tauranga Rachel Jones says the point of the Big Red Bus is to raise the opposition party's profile and spread Labour's campaign message ‘vote positive' across the country.

'It's coming to almost all of the electorates around the country so we were lucky to have it today to promote labour and make people aware of the kind of campaign we're running which is a positive campaign.”

Rachel says the Tauranga electorate tour concludes at Welcome Bay Community Centre where a BOP/Waiariki meet the candidates meeting is being held at 3pm.

'I believe Tamati Coffey is coming through from Rotorua and he'll pick it up from there and head on through to Te Puke.”

May be able to hold their caucus meetings in the bus next year and invite Winston first and Hone Dotcom for afternoon tea.

A story about a bus?

Is that the bus Labour Candidate Rachel Jones rode into town on? One day Labour will stand a Candidate from Tauranga instead of an import (yet again..) from Cambridge! Once again, Tauranga misses out on real local representation.

Maybe...

...Labour could rent the bus to some National MP's and erring others and send them on a long journey. Problem is that they may not arrive anywhere since the driver and ‘others' suffer from rampant amnesia.
