Following on from last year's successful event, Whitianga is now gearing up to host its second Mercury Bay Home & Trade Show.
The show will be held at the Whitianga Town Hall on the Saturday of Labour Weekend.
Whitianga is gearing up to host its second Mercury Bay Home & Trade Show.
The event is being co-ordinated and run by the Mercury Bay Business Association and is supported by the Thames-Coromandel District Council.
There will be up to 26 manned exhibition stands; and this year will have two Trade Walls displaying home owner products and services.
Co-ordinator Rachael Lee says local businesses jumped at the opportunity to exhibit last year and she expects the stands to fill just as quickly this year.
'So a call out to businesses who would like to exhibit – get in touch with us quick. The show's aim is to get at least 1000 people through the doors.”
MBBA recognise that with Mercury Bay having a 64 per cent non-resident population, the show is aimed at providing property owners the opportunity to get up close and personal with local trade, retail and service providers.
'It's important to showcase our businesses, so that all property owners know about the vast range of products and services available on their doorstep,” says MBBA secretary Helena Stratford.
'They don't need to bring it with them from Auckland or Hamilton; and they certainly don't need to shop online.
'We hope this show can provide growth to our businesses along with introducing more money into our community.”
Helena says Mercury Bay is home to a myriad of businesses, which provide home products and services such as electricians, plumbers and gas fitters, builders, fencers, garden and landscapers, kitchen, bathroom designers, along with retailers specialising in providing home furnishings and flooring and specialist services like architects, property management services and insurance providers.
TCDC staff will also be at the show to assist with any property-related queries.
The show is a non-profit free-entry event, with Mercury Bay Community Patrol welcoming attendees and collecting donations on the day.
