Te Puke s Tuff girl to fight in Thailand

Te Puke's Sarah Rankin believes she has the punch to win a world kickboxing title when she competes in a reality TV show in Thailand next month.
Sarah, who works in customer support at Westpac, is competing in the US-produced show ‘Tuff Girls'.

It is the female equivalent of the Muay Thai Kickboxing show ‘Contender Asia' and the boxing show ‘The Contender'.
Sarah will be fighting in elimination rounds against 13 other kickboxers from Australia, Europe, America and Thailand.
If Sarah is one of the five selected in the elimination rounds, she will go on to fight for the Queens Cup. This is the biggest female kickboxing event of the year for a WBC world title.
'For me I just want the title – it's just an awesome belt to have,” says Sarah.
She turns 24 on Wednesday and has been kickboxing for two and a half years.
Having only fought competitively for one year, Sarah feels overwhelmed.
'I have moments where I think, oh my goodness is this for real?”
Sarah says she won't give up because she hates losing.
'I'm going to go over there and do my very best.
'You've got to have confidence in yourself, know that you've trained hard and that you deserve to win.”
Sarah needs some help along the way though and she is looking for $5000 in sponsorship to get her to Thailand in July.
