Grinder a success

More than 100 people from around New Zealand as well as a strong contingent from Tauranga participated in The Grinder Multisport Race today, Saturday.

The event included an off road 11km run, a 12km kayak, a 15km bike and a 5km run challenge.
People entered as individuals or as two, three or four person teams.
'It was a fantastic day,” says race director Tracey Clissold.
'It was the second time we have run the race; we want to keep growing it.”
Tracey is pleased with the number of fantastic athletes who participation in this year's event.

Mount Maunganui's Dwarne Farley came first in individual men's and James Coubrough was placed second.
Karen Hanlen was first in the individual women's division and Emma McCosh came second.
The Wairaiki Titans were the first group to complete the race.
