If you bump into Kevin Bloody Wilson while he's in town this month please, please don't tell the man your life problems.

But if you simply can't help yourself, be prepared for the veteran Aussie performer to offer a simple, one word reply – 'D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F.”

The acronym is not only a witty song title but a way of life for Kevin. For the uninitiated it stands for ‘Does It Look Like I Give A…' and you can figure out the rest.

In an exclusive interview with SunLive, Kevin says: 'You'll be sitting next to someone on an airplane or bus and they start delivering their life story, and all you're thinking is ‘f**k off, leave me alone'.

'You think, ‘why are you telling me this?' Don't you have a wife, a doctor or a psychologist who you can tell this s**t to? I'm just a bloke you've just met.”

The Kalgoorlie native has been in our lives for more than 30 years, splitting our sides and cracking us up with his brand of irreverent humour.

This month Kevin is bringing his one-man show to Baycourt Theatre in Tauranga as part of his ‘First of the Final Farewell Tours'.

'I see everyone doing their final concerts, so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon,” he says.

'I'll keep doing these farewell tours until I'm dead, which I hope is not in the near future.”

Kevin says he loves making the trip to New Zealand as it is the part of his tours he looks forward to the most.

Kiwis are 'good buggers”, and with his tongue firmly in his cheek, the comedian refers to New Zealand as his 'budget tour of Europe”.

'This is because you can see all of the world in two beautiful little islands,” he says.

'When talking to friends or whoever I say to them it doesn't matter where you go, if you point your camera you take a postcard.

'It's just a beautiful country, and that's not pissing in your pocket in anyway, it's genuinely how we feel about it.”

Kevin's got many balls in the air at the moment, which include writing with daughter Jenny Talia who he's on tour with, producing a Christmas album and travelling to America to work on a TV series.

He says when you love what you do 'it's not work”. 'You wake up every morning and get stuck into your hobby”, which perfectly explains his three-decade career.

His November show will feature all the classics including D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F., I Knew the Bride (When She Used to be a Mole) and Living Next Door to Alan, plus tracks off latest album ‘Wrong Wrong Wrong'.

Kevin says Kiwi audiences had better 'expect the unexpected”.

'Because I have no f*****g idea, the show is never rehearsed or scripted, it's just me and my guitar on stage,” he explains.

'But oil up your tonsils, you're going to be the Tauranga D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. choir throughout the show.”

Kevin Bloody Wilson's First of the Final Farewells Tour plays Baycourt Theatre, Durham Street, Tauranga, on Tuesday November 25.

Tickets cost $68.95 + BF and can be purchased by calling Baycourt Box Office on: 0800 842 538 or by visting: www.ticketek.co.nz
