X-Air Wakeboarding is a specialist watersports and boat accessory supply company, founded in 2002.
The company and its range of gear is constantly evolving as employees use the gear themselves, as well as gathering feedback from customers. Managing director Adam Hood's 15 years of experience managing a hydraulic engineering company means constant new designs, improvements and changes, and new products are rigorously tested before going on sale.
State of the art
The company's big advantage is state-of-the-art gear that's ahead of the rest. When others were producing single speaker pods made from alloy, X-Air designed the first twin speaker enclosure, tested various materials and fabricated custom two piece moulds to produce speaker pods from fibreglass and carbon fibre
In 2009 the company released the world's first universal fit forward-facing tower with integrated bimini top – the FFX Tower®. .
All X-Air stainless towers have a solid stainless steel CNC-milled and machined, universal fit hinge system. They will fit boats from 15 to 25 feet - and varying hull shapes and widths.
Correct position
Once the hinges are in the correct position and tower mounted to the hull, they are secured up solid. Pre-cut pieces of marine plywood are also supplied with every tower to strengthen the inside area of the hull beneath the mounting feet.
Developing the shape and curve of the towers to suit most boat shapes took years. The main bow on the Fat X Tower curves slightly outside the window line of the boat to ensure factory canopies and bimini tops can still be used and it will fold down to fit into a garage.
All X-Air X Series gear is made in New Zealand. Beware of cheap imported copies that will not last the distance.

Assembly
All towers come with illustrated assembly instructions and tools needed to install them. The advantage of this, along with the universal mounting hinge system, is that the company can supply the tower and the boat owner or an authorised dealer can fit it.
