Tauranga musician John Michaelz is not among the winners at the New Zealand Music Awards held on Thursday night.
He was a finalist in the gospel category for his album Walk on Water, but it was Edwin Derricutt for his album Three Hours South that took the award.
The big award of the night, album of the year, went to Gin Wigmore for her work, Holy Smoke.
