Unused kennels sought

Whakatane District Council Animal Control staff and the Whakatane SPCA are appealing for anyone in the community who has an unused and unwanted dog kennel to let them know.

The Council's community regulation manager, Graeme Lewer, says a number of dogs in the District do not have kennels.

"Because their owners are unable to provide appropriate conditions for them, Animal Control staff and the SPCA are cooperating to find a solution.

"Anyone wishing to donate a kennel should contact Whakatane District Council Animal Control, or the SPCA."

Any kennels volunteered will be collected and passed on to those in need.
