We need more sets of lights to replace those troublesome roundabouts in Greerton, Instead of the odd fender bender we get now on the roundabouts we can get some serious carnage with red light runners instead! I hope council is taking these serious accidents into account when they look at dispensing the roundabouts in favor of lights!!
Blind drivers?

This wasn't at a roundabout, but at a set of lights. I wonder who wasn't looking?

My poor sister was in this accident and is 17 with a full licence. She has done a defence driving course and is a great driver. This report says nothing about her and how the old lady was the one who ran the red light thinking it was green. So angry and disappointed.

overseas, lights are a killer + Tauranga has some crazy setups eg Welcome bay, Maungatapu, Brockfield, Munro st, Elizabeth/expressway, Hull/Maunganui rd, Maunganui/Mt college, Bethlehem Z roundabout Cameron/18th, The list goes on all these intersections / roads are a joke, Apart from that police need to act in the right direction and look around i see so much everyday and even while police are present do nothing instead of sitting in a van

Maybe we should hire the British woman that had the revolutionary ideas for the Maungatapu roundabouts once again? All of these intersections/roundabouts work perfectly on paper, unfortunately Kiwi drivers are morons! Harsher enforcement of the roadcode and transport regulations is a good starting point to encourage the raising of driving standards here.

Re Capt Kaveman, there is nothing wrong with the traffic light arrangements in Tauranga City - with regards to roundabouts I agree with you, some need light replacements. Most large cities have similar traffic light arrangements/intersections. You should try driving in Paris around the Arc de Triomphe! That raises the hair on the back of your neck!
