A sea of whitewash with pink caps is all that could be seen as swimmers took part in the Tauranga Harbour Bridge to Bridge swim this afternoon.

The race started at the Sebel Trinity Hotel, with a wedding party in the background.

The race was a 1500m swim or 600m option.

Men, women and children challenged themselves to see who had what it took to come out on top as their family and friends watched from the sideline on The Strand.

It took about 20 minutes for competitors to go from the Sebel Trinity Hotel to the railway bridge by Harbourside Restaurant.
