People from all cultures and nationalities are converging on Mount Drury today to celebrate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
A community dawn service is being held at the base of Mount Drury (Hopukiore) with a whakatau from local iwi/hapu followed by blessing.

From 7am, a community celebration of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in 1840 will begin with speeches from civic leaders, an open forum for community and keynote speakers.
This will finish at 9am with kapahaka and church choir performances.
Following the dawn service Kaumatua, Kuia and dignitaries are invited for breakfast at Whareroa Marae.
Last year a crowd of 300-strong attended the service, with just as many people expected this year.
