Car blaze after transformer crash

Emergency services are attending a crash on Princess Road in Bellevue after a car hit a power transformer.

The transformer is currently engulfed in flames and there is major damage to the vehicle, which is also on fire.

Power Co are believed to have given the fire service permission to extinguish the blaze.

Three fire trucks are on the scene, along with an ambulance and two police cars.

There are no reports of injuries at this stage.

...let's hope the driver is billed for the cost of a new transformer and the cost of the fire service attending and is also charged with driving offences. For some young guys this is the only way they get certain messages. Why were they not in school, anyway?
