SH2 crash, 4 car nose-to-tail

Motorists are being asked to avoid State Highway 2 between Te Maunga and Papamoa after a four vehicle crash this afternoon.

Traffic in both directions is expected to be delayed following the four car nose-to-tail crash that occurred in the eastbound lane opposite Bruce Rd shortly before 6pm.

A contractor is currently on-site and reports say all cars involved in the crash have been cleared off the road.

There appears to be no reported injuries.

accidents lately. All it seems caused by lack of attention. Earlier today as I pulled up to some lights, some typical Tauranga driver jammed on their brakes at the last second to avoid hitting the line of cars in front of them. Then noticed in my rear vision that same driver had their nose down looking at their phone. When are people going to realise their texting while driving is putting innocent lives at risk!

AGAIN!!!!

Why do people insist on driving right up behind the car in front that and paying attention to everything but actually driving!!!!!!except if a medical issue was the reason then one has no control.......

Tauranga is becoming well known for its nose to tail crashes. AND WE CANT BLAME THE ROAD.

Hopefully the person that caused it has insurance, unlike the person that hit me last week and wrote my car off, along the same stretch of road. Decided taking his boots off while driving was a better idea, than watching the road. Hope that nobody was hurt.
