The Bay of Plenty man who pleaded guilty to robbery the ANZ Bank in Greerton last year has been sent to prison for seven years.

Joshua John Morrison, 22, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery following the robbery of the Tauranga bank on October 9 and the Selwyn Heights Four Square in Rotorua on October 4.

Joshua John Morrison has been sentenced for a raft of crime including robbing the Greerton ANZ Bank.

He also pleaded guilty to charges of sexual connection with a girl under 16, assault, wilful damage, unlawfully taking a vehicle and breaching his release conditions.

Morrison was arrested on October 30 following a police investigation into the robberies.

Around 2.30pm on October 9, Morrison walked into the ANZ Bank on Cameron Road and demanded cash from a teller.

Police say he left in a stolen Nissan Pulsar which was found in Rotorua the day after the robbery.

Earlier in the month, Morrison was also involved in the armed robbery of the Selwyn Heights Four Square.

Police says he robbed the Four Square with a double-barrel shotgun and fled with around $500 to $700.

Police are still looking for a second suspect believed to be involved in both incidents.
