More fast food in the Bay

There are more Big Mac opportunities than ever in the Western Bay of Plenty with a McDonalds opening in Te Puke on Tuesday morning.

Te Puke McDonalds.

It is one of a raft of new fast food outlets that has opened, or is soon to open in the Western Bay of Plenty, in recent months.

Advertising for jobs at a new KFC in Papamoa has already started and is expected to be open sometime next year.

Te Puke's Jennifer Pokaia was one of those who visited the new outlet on its opening day, joining steady queues for a feed.

She says there were large numbers inside when she ordered lunch.

'We're happy we've finally got one. We were just driving past and realised it was open.”

'The service wasn't too bad. It was really busy but staff were coming to people in the lines and taking orders.”

Let's not talk about obesity etc and continue to allow fast food outlets to be such a growth industry

Rubbish

I'm more worried about the amount of rubbish with the big M on it that appears around where a restaurant like this is located. even before McDonalds arrived their brand was on rubbish in the streets, how bad will it be now!? As for links to obesity, have some self-responsbility. if you dont want to get fat, dont eat it!
