Short skirts, silly hats, and old old music. It's the marching girls, and they are going to be marching all over the Links Avenue Reserve this weekend.

City of Tauranga Under 12s

Today Saturday is the Marching Bay of Plenty Regional Combined competition, and tomorrow is the Tauranga Champs.

Teams from the Bay of Plenty, Waikato Auckland Taranaki and Hawkes Bay are going to be competing in the two day event.

'My little girls are the only competing team from Tauranga,” says Tauranga coaching co-ordinator Tracy-Lee Tredinnick.

The Tauranga under 12 marching team is the under 12 technical champions, and under 12 display champions.

There will be 13 teams today Saturday and 12 on Sunday.

'This is just our region, a combined competition with Waikato and Rotorua.”
