Tauranga Boys' College and Sikh Sports, who sit in fifth and sixth place on the Reserve Grade standings, will be desperate to win and give them n opportunity to make the semi-finals, if other results go their way.

However, both teams face big challenges on the weekend, with victory for either ranking as an upset result.

Tauranga Boys' Second XI square off with competition front-runners R&A Sangha, who sneaked home in a rain affected match with Sikh Sports last week, to retain their unbeaten qualifying rounds record.

Sikh Sports square off with Cadets at Fergusson Park. While Cadets have already accumulated enough points for a post section berth, a Sikh XI win and Greerton losing to Katikati, could give Sikh Sports a semi-final berth.

The battle for the wooden spoon will take place when Mount Maunganui square off with Te Puke at Blake Park.

The Mount side have had a roller coaster season. After reaching the First Round title decider, they have lost several close encounters in the second half of the season, to sit near the bottom of the points table.

But, the Mount's Third XI are in the box seat in the B Grade Championship title race.

Having lost just one match (to Cadets) the team from over the harbour bridge have already booked a home semi-final.

They will round out the round robin series against Greerton, who need to beat the Mount to remain in top four contention.

Defending B Grade Champions Wanderers are lurking just off the lead and have to defeat Katikati, to ensure a top two finish.

Te Puke region Singh XI will grab second place if they beat Cadets and former B Grade titleholders Grasshoppers will make the post section play if they get past Albion.
