A second batch of coloured, marked patrol cars will be rolled out to police districts from August 2015 as part of the scheduled fleet replacement programme.
Coloured cars were introduced to the fleet for the first time in December 2013.

A total of 28 cars coloured either bright red or dark orange are now in action, with at least two in every police district.
Police have decided to order another 29 coloured cars as they have proved very popular with staff and the public, and been a good ‘conversation starter' for police working in their communities.
Some 29 coloured cars will be ordered in total.
The first 15 will be dark red and will be on the road by the end of the year.
The vehicles will be rolled out instead of marked white highway patrol cars, at no additional cost to police and without increasing the size of the fleet.

thats the whole idea, everyone can pick the white cars, & yes the red & orange are very hard to see, if you drive at the speed limit you will have nothing to worry about aye, pul yer head in !!!
Great!

Have they got the trained and experienced staff to man them??? Oh that's right! they're closing down some police stations around the country, to stay within budget, so there should be plenty of spare bodies knocking about to drive up and down the BLACK SPOT AREAS.
Driver training for all

Driving at the speed limit is just one of the issues... Signalling, following distances, patience, respect for others....etc etc. Bring on regular driver testing!
