Phil Rudd trial starts today

The judge alone trial starts in courtroom four at 10am. The charges follow a police search of his Harbour Drive home on November 6 last year.

Phil was also originally charged with procuring murder, but that charge was dropped soon after his arrest.

He was also charged with breaching his bail conditions following an altercation with an alleged witness at a Gate Pa café in December.

He previously appeared in Tauranga District Court on drug charges in November 2010 following a police search of his boat, Barchetta.

Phil was convicted on a charge of possessing 25 grams of cannabis and was fined $250 plus $133 in court costs.

The conviction was later overturned after his lawyer argued the conviction would prevent Phil from touring with AC/DC.

The band has since replaced the 60-year-old. He completed his drum tracks for the band's 2014 album Rock or Bust, but he hasn't played with the band since the album's release and didn't make the tour.

See how quickly any well known person is judged by people who only know what the media has reported. The court knows a lot more
