Vegas fight for Van Duin

Training three to four times a day, six days a week, is no easy feat. But that's what Faith Van Duin is committed to do to be the next featherweight champion.

The mother of two says its hard juggling training and home life and while sometimes she feels like she's on repeat mode, it's worth it.

Faith says her girls, 13 nd 9, are proud of what she has accomplished and her oldest wants to get into the ring sometime.

'I said she can when she can make her own decisions.”

The Immortal recently took on Amanda Bell at Inficta FC 12 in Kansas City, making her opponent tap out in the second round.

The fight, which marked her first bout in the United States, is her fifth win in her professional career.

'It was good. She is a tough opponent and definitely a good fight to welcome me to the US.

"I had a little bit of worry going into the fit because she is aggressive and had more fights than me but once I got into the cage, all my worries left,” says Faith.

Heading into the fight, Faith's main focus was 'just to get the finish” whichever way it came.

'It was overwhelming to see how far I got and to see the fighters I see on TV, watching them grow into the fighters they are, was pretty surreal."

Now The Immortal is turing her attention to Brazillian Chris 'Cyborg' Justino, the current Inficta FC featherweight champion.

'I have a possible chance of being the next contender for featherweight title in Inficta against Chris 'Cyborg'.”

Chris has won her last 13 fights by TKO – total knockout.

Faith says the Cyborg's strengths will be her stand-up and her aggressiveness.

'She just doesn't give up. She goes in there to rip your head off.

'I'm ready to rip her head off too,” laughs the Immortal.

Faith's upcoming fight will be just as big, if not bigger, than her last fight, as she prepares to take on Chris Cyborg in Las Vegas in July.

'It will be during international fight week and UFC will be held the next day, so there are so many thing going on.”

Faith hopes to be in the UFC next year.

'My goal is to get the title and defend it, because you're not really the champion until you defend it.”
