Firefighters are currently dealing with a large scrub fire in Omokoroa.
Back up is currently en-route to the scene near Kayelene Place as the blaze heads towards the railway tracks.

Northern Fire Communications shift manager Colin Underdown has confirmed that the fire is about 200m by 100m in size.
'It is heading through scrub land and towards the railway tracks," says Colin.
'The crew in attendance is calling for another fire truck and a water tanker to help fight the fire.”
This is the second scrub fire of the day after Tauranga Fire Brigade were called to small scrub fire on Wairoa Pa Road in Bethlehem this afternoon.
The fire was extinguished with one high pressure delivery system.
