Thames' Porritt Park has received a facelift with murals created by local school students now adorning the park-facing wall of the new toilet block.
Earlier this year the Thames Community Board and Guild of Public Artists invited schools to submit mural designs to be judged by artist and retired surgeon Paul Sylvester, Nikky Fisher and Deb MacDonald Brown.

A celebratory launch was held at Porritt Park where the designs created were unveiled by the six students recently.
Over the course of the competition the judges worked with teachers and students of local schools to plan the mural design, which is made up of six entries combined into three panels.
The winning designs were then selected on Labour weekend and later painted by the students onto large panels designed for installation on the toilet block wall.
