Some Bayhopper bus routes and time tables are changing from June 20 to improve travel time and provide better service.

The bus will no longer return back along Cheyne Road, Argyll, Kiteroa, Devon or Mansels Road on route to the CBD. The changes will reduce the travel time from Cheyne Road to the CBD by five minutes.

Route 1 Pyes Pa has amended service timings and coverage has been extended to accommodate residents at the Copper Crest Retirement Home.

Altered service times will also affect route 36 Maungatapu-Papamoa and route 60 Bellevue-Cambridge Heights.

To pick up more Tauranga Boys High School students, one afternoon service on route 70 Brookfield-Matua service will now depart five minutes later from the CBD at 3.15pm instead of 3.10pm.

Route 78 Mangatawa will now operate on Friday instead of Thursday and the morning trip will start from Bayfair.

'We are continuously looking at ways to improve our buses to reflect changes in demand and need,” says Bay of Plenty Regional Council public transport sub-committee chair, Lyall Thurston.

'We hope this will provide an incentive for people to use our Bayhopper buses and lead to a reduction in the number of vehicles on our busy roads.”

Isn't it bout time some of the empty busses frequenting Evans Rd were diverted along Glouster Rd and up Sandhurst. No service in this area.
