UPDATED: An elderly man and woman area dead after a crash near Tokoroa this morning, reports Stuff.
The person, who saw the aftermath of the crash, says only two people could be seen in the vehicle.

A truck and a silver four-door sedan collided on State Highway 1, south of the Tokoroa Golf Club at 8.30am, say police.
Another person was transferred to Tokoroa Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
Two fire trucks from Tokoroa were at the scene of the crash assisting police.
The Serious Crash Unit are investigating.
Diversions are in place northbound at Ongaroto Rd and southbound at Campbell Rd, police said.
People driving from Tokoroa to Rotorua were advised to use State Highway 5.
Police hope to have the highway open around 3pm today.
"Police can now confirm the two deceased were a male and a female, who were travelling in the car," says a statement from police.
"The driver of the truck remains in Tokoroa Hospital in a moderate condition."
